Just after the overdose of cricket, country is all set to witness another Twenty20 extravaganza, featuring celebrities from four Indian film industries.
In a bid to bring the Bollywood together with the South Indian film industry, Celebrity Cricket League (CCL 2011) was kicked off on Saturday.
There are four teams- - Mumbai Heros Tamil Rahinos, Karnataka Bulldozers and Telugu Warriors- - participating in the star-packed twenty20 extravaganza. Suni Shetty and Salman Khan Sohail Khan Entertainment’s Bollywood cricket franchise Mumbai Warriors while Surya will lead the Tamil team ‘Tamil Rhinos’.
Sudeep and Victory Venkatesh will be at the helm of affairs for the Kannada (Karnataka Bulldozers) and Telugu (Telugu Warriors) teams respectively. The is based out of Chennai.
Actresses like Andrita Ray, Raagini Dwiwedi, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Gangopaddhyay, Pooja Gandhi, Genelia D’Souza, Shriya Saran, Taapsee and Priyamani have quotient of the opening event.
The other male stars who are participating: Shivraj Kumar, Ram Charan, Abbas, Aftab Shivdasani, Sohail Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sonu Sood, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Kunal Khemu, Makarand Deshpande, Kabir Sadanand, Varun Badola, Angad Bedi and many more.
It is not the first time that film stars have taken to the cricket field. There have been many charity events in the past which featured stars from the film fraternity. However, this time it is a unique concept which will debut for the first time in India.
