Chad Kroeger has been ordered by a judge to pay $25,000 a month in spousal support to his ex-partner.
The Nickelback frontman and Marianna Goriuk were together for seven years, with their union being declared common law under Canadian statutes. They ended their relationship in 2009. He has been ordered to pay Goriuk $25,000 a month in support payments, including $5,100 a month in pet care for her horse.
The figure of $25,000 per month was awarded after Goriuk took Kroeger to court, arguing that the originally stipulated sum of $10,000 per month was not sufficient and that she was owed $96,760 in payments each month. Goriuk is still seeking property and other assets or monetary compensation from Kroeger, with whom she owned properties in Abbotsford, B.C. and Mexico.
Kroeger is estimated to have earned over $9.7 million last year.
