Members of the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard are in New York City for the annual Fleet Week celebration. Wednesday, the Parade of Ships kicked off the week-long event, which features demonstrations and public tours of the vessels.
Representatives from each participating branch of the military got a chance to try their hand at comedy Wednesday, when they stopped by “Late Night With David Letterman” to deliver the “Top Ten Things I Enjoy About Fleet Week in New York City” segment.
While some of the jokes didn’t completely make sense to a non-military person — “I like the challenge of parallel-parking a Nimitz-class supercarrier” — others were universally funny — “Honestly, I don’t enjoy anything now that Oprah’s gone.”
